The idea behind KauDas

The roots of KauDas lie in the strategic realignment of Heinrich Nagel KG. When Leon Nagel, son of Managing Director Heinz Joachim Nagel, joined the company as the 4th generation in 2023, it was clear that the family business wanted to become more independent of the traditional B2B business and build its own brand in the pet sector.

Together with Joshua Bach, founder of the Gen-Z marketing agency PlayTheHype, the vision of KauDas was born: a brand that not only impresses with high-quality products, but also breaks new ground with modern, trend-conscious brand management.

The next step was a close collaboration with HL Hamburger Leistungsfutter,+ its pet brand Panto, represented by Timo Grebe (Head of Pet Food) and Jan Erdmann (Head of Pet Food Sales). Through this partnership, HL takes over the exclusive marketing in the stationary trade and makes KauDas accessible to retailers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Premium quality meets innovation

KauDas stands for quality "Made in Germany": natural ingredients, clean label philosophy without artificial additives and a range that offers real added value.

Particularly exciting: the new freeze-dried line. While freeze-dried snacks have long been standard in the premium segment in the USA, they are still a rarity in German retail. KauDas is bringing this trend to the DACH region, focusing on innovation where other brands are still stuck in old structures.

"The pet market is developing rapidly and many brands are still stuck in old patterns. With KauDas, we want to establish a new, modern perspective on dog snacks," explains Joshua Bach.
